I started this log out with a season review so I think this would be a good time to do another. It’s actually about mid-season for me, since collegiate has ended and the USCF races are getting going. I’ll ignore the USCF races I’ve done so far and just focus on the collegiate stuff.
- 11 Mass Start Races
- 9 Mass Start Finishes
- 1 Crash / 1 DNF
- 1 TTT Win

2nd – UCSB Road Race MC
2nd – UCB Criterium MC
3rd – WCCC Championship Criterium MC
3rd – UNR Criterium MC

4th – UCLA Road Race MC
So I’ve been really vague in all of my updates previous to this one. I wanted to keep a record, but I was also afraid of thinking too much about results and not focusing on training. Well, I couldn’t be happier about the results. I’ve gained a lot of experience and a fair amount of confidence. I think I could have followed the training plan more strictly and I definitely need to try to protect myself from getting sick so often, but otherwise, things went well. I think my early season weight lifting was really beneficial and I’m going to start lifting again during my build toward the USCF season.
I guess it’s kind of silly — as the goals I’ve achieved are so small in the grand scheme of things — but I am really happy to have improved and gone beyond getting dropped in every race. Everything just seemed to fall into place this time… and it was a wonderful learning experience. But now it’s time to start getting my butt kicked again in the Cat 4s and next year in the B’s :o)
I’ve been thinking back and wow, I saw my teammates do some really amazing stuff this season. Our MB riders finished a race 1-2-3-4… that was just amazing. Hard working teammates above you can be really inspirational.
